Rethinkable

Rethinkable is a Web3 professional networking and jobs platform designed as a decentralized alternative to traditional networks like LinkedIn. Built to cater to privacy-conscious and pseudonymous Web3 professionals, it allows users to construct a verified digital identity and connect with employers without sacrificing control over their personal data.

I contributed to the product design across multiple areas of the platform, working on both existing experiences and new concepts as the product evolved. My work spanned the core social experience, professional profiles, messaging, jobs, account settings, premium features, and other product initiatives.

Because the product was still exploring its direction, the work involved designing and refining different experiences while maintaining consistency across an increasingly broad product ecosystem.

Improving the Core Product Experience

As Rethinkable evolved, I worked across several existing product experiences to improve their visual quality, usability, and consistency. My designs led to a more cohesive product experience that felt more polished and intentional across different parts of the application.

I redesigned the homepage across desktop and mobile, refined job discovery and application flows, and reworked user profiles and account management experiences. This included designing the different states and interactions needed to make these experiences feel complete—from loading and empty states to confirmations, errors, and other edge cases.

The work also gave me an opportunity to strengthen the underlying design system, bringing greater consistency to typography, color, components, spacing, and interaction patterns across the platform.

direct messaging

I designed Rethinkable's direct messaging experience to give users a simple way to communicate directly on the platform. I focused on keeping the experience familiar and straightforward while accounting for the different interaction states required for a functional messaging product.

The experience follows familiar patterns from modern social and professional platforms, while supporting the needs of professional conversations. Users can exchange messages, attach and share files, and manage their conversations within the platform.

social timeline

Rethinkable's social timeline is social layer around professional identity as a central space for users to share ideas, interact with their network, and discover content from other professionals.

The experience covered the complete post lifecycle—from creating and publishing posts to liking, commenting, and uploading files. I also connected the timeline back to user profiles, allowing interactions and published content to contribute to each user's professional presence on the platform.

The goal was to create a social experience that felt familiar to users of platforms like LinkedIn while fitting naturally into Rethinkable's broader professional networking ecosystem.

application tracking

Rethinkable features a hiring workspace for organizations, I designed an application management experience to manage their hiring process directly within Rethinkable.

Organizations could create and manage job listings, review applicants, shortlist candidates, schedule interviews, and ultimately hire or remove applicants. I also designed collaboration features that allowed organizations to invite other team members to participate in the hiring process for individual job listings.

Communication was connected directly to the workflow. Organizations could send applicants automated messages through the platform's direct messaging system, keeping important hiring communication within Rethinkable.

On the applicant side, I designed a dedicated dashboard where candidates could track the status of their applications and understand where they were in the hiring process.

The result was a more structured hiring workflow connecting job listings, applicants, collaborators, communication, and hiring decisions within a single experience.

premium profiles

Premium Profiles introduced additional ways for paying members to differentiate themselves on the platform. The goal was to make premium functionality feel like a meaningful extension of the profile experience, not just a collection of locked features.

I explored features including verification badges, profile customization, galleries, publication links, and other premium profile sections designed to give professionals greater control over how they presented themselves.

results - A more cohesive product experience

My work across Rethinkable helped establish a more polished and consistent visual experience across the platform. I strengthened the design system and applied a more cohesive visual language across core product experiences, from profiles and job flows to messaging, social interactions, and hiring.

During my time working on the product, I also observed increased activity within the platform and its community. While specific product-growth metrics weren't formally tracked against my design work, the combination of a stronger UI foundation, more consistent experiences, and continued feature development helped move Rethinkable toward a more mature product.
